The protective equipment worn by soldiers and adventurers is divided into two types: Armor and Guards. You can equip one of each type at a time. Armor grants a bonus to Hit Points and Magic Points; simply add these values on to your base HP and MP. Guards grant a bonus to your Evade score, helping you defend against attacks. These premade armor lists use a 10-point pool for Armor and a 5-point pool for Guards.
Heavy Armor is typically worn by soldiers and other fighting classes. Although cumbersome, it provides its owner with excellent defensive strength.
Medium Armor is a form of light armor typically worn by thieves, ninjas, engineers, and other classes that are tougher than mages, but not as strong as fighters. It provides good protection to the wearer, and is sometimes enchanted to enhance spellcasting capabilities as well.
Light armor is generally some type of enchanted robe, usually worn by wizards. Obviously, the protection it yields is weak, but it makes up for this deficiency by augmenting its wearer’s magical strength.
GUARDS
“Guard” is a general terms used for any sort of protective item that is used to block or avoid attacks, typically worn on the arms. Shields, Gauntlets, and Bracers are all common types of Guards, but rarer, more exotic types have been known to exist, such as fancy parrying daggers or even magical devices that cause the user to phase in and out of existence. Guards provide a bonus to the user’s Evade.
