Suncoast Tour 2000

You ask now why would Sundance go way down to Florida and Georgia, well asides then the obvious that its really cold in Canada that time of the year and Florida and Georgia are just a tad warmer. There is another reason, he has a purpose. Well perhaps not a very good purpose but a purpose none the less. Not really much different then Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged...

His name was Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged. He was a man with a purpose. Not a very good purpose, as he would have been the first to admit, but it was at least a purpose and it did at least keep him on the move.
...
This was the point at which he conceived his purpose, the thing which would drive him on, and which, as far as he could see, would drive him on forever. It was this.

He would insult the Universe.

That is, he would insult everybody in it. Individually, personally, one by one, and (this was the thing he really decided to grit his teeth over) in alphabetical order.

When people protested to him, as they sometimes had done, that the plan was not merely misguided but actually impossible because of the number of people being born and dying all the time, he would merely fix them with a steely look and say, "A man can dream can't he?"

Well that was his purpose, you are now asking SO????, well my purpose is to see all 50 states, then after that, I'll have to think of a new one.

So here are some pics I took to document the fact that I am reaching the fulfillment of my purpose.

Well unlike Wowbagger I will not insult everybody alphabetically, so I'll approach my purpose from a different tack.

Chillin's Orbit
Sadly due to late flight and missed turns in Florida I only had a few minutes to meet up with one of the smartest cosmonauts Chillin411, perhaps some other time we'll have more time to talk.

Well after the brief visit with Chillin, it was on to Cape Canaveral. Here are some pics. of that.

Georgia, Sweet Georgia, Just an old-fashioned song keeps Georgia on my mind.
Savannah, GA is a pretty city located on the South Carolina border. And the good thing I didn't have to face an angry Jude Law and his gray Camaro.
But I did get to see fellow Savanans Diane, Phubar and Play2WinKat

Atlanta and Area

From there the next stop on the Suncoast 2000 Tour was Atlanta, GA home of coca cola and Phubar's favorite DIET TAB. It was there I found out of the nicest street in Atlanta. Alberta Lane!!! But perhaps I am biased seeing I live in Alberta.

After ensconcing myself in the stark industrial park that is around Alberta Lane it was off to see Josette4 and Laniel. BTW Signgirl I tried to call 1-900-JOS-SIGN and asked for Muffy but nobody knew who Muffy was.

It's a Small World After All, NO NO NO STOP THAT SONG

After Georgia the next stop was back to Florida for 3 days in Orlando, I should have spent at LEAST 2 more. Fortunate for me It's a Small World was closed for maintenance, I've suffered thought it once in DisneyLand but I swore NEVER again.

BEST ride for adults Space Mountain.
COOLEST show Time Keeper, Robin Williams does the dialogue, what more do I need to say.
WORST ride for adults The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacres Farm Its a great ride for kids, but its not designed for adults expect MAJOR back pain for days. This is no fault of Disney though.
Disney World, EPCOT Flamingos at EPCOT Seagull on lamppost
As for EPCOT well you think with all the sponsors you would get in free but NOPE, nowhere close to free.

BEST RIDE: Test Track (Sponsored by GM)
BEST FREEBIE: Miyuki's Candy Art If you are one of the fortunate few who get picked for her art you will cherish it for the rest of your life. Very talented.

TRAVELLERS HINT: If you push both ketchups on the depensers it will come out twice as fast :-)

Wasting Away Again in Margaritaville

Driving to Key West is a very interesting experience, on some parts of the road you feel like you are driving in the middle of an ocean, which when you think about isnt far from the truth.

The Southernmost Point in contiguous USA
Aerial view of the same spot. Thrilling huh
Well during the trip I had the chance to talk to Medusa451 she said I should see the ships load and unload in Miami. Well... I'd love to say I took her advice, but alas no, just a photograph

As much as Key West is laid back and relax Miami, is extremely fast paced. There are two types of drivers there the blue haired set who do 30MPH in a 55, and the younger crowd who do 90MPH in that same 55MPH zone. I consider myself to be a bit of fast driver and I have the tickets to prove it, but I'm nothing compared to the average Miami Driver.

An interchange in Miami

I would have probably found the car rental drop off area had the road not been so uniquely designed. It is located on one of the few areas in the USA where you drive on the LEFT side of the road, very confusing. Nice place to drive if it was engineered right.

All in all we had fun, thanks to Chillin411, Diane028, Play2winkat, Phubar222, Josette and Laniel who made the trip worth it.
