Composting: Creating Black Gold for Your Garden with Laurie
Brasnet
You will never send another bag of leaves to the landfill after learning the methods
and benefits of creating rich humus out of garden and kitchen waste. Get down to
earth advice on constructing and managing a compost bin, avoiding pest problems, and
making use of yard and household refuse. The instructor with the Saskatchewan Waste
Reduction Council will answer all your questions about this green technology.

Forcing Bulbs for Winter Colour! with Erl Svendsen
Learn the ins and outs (that is, planting and growing) of forcing bulbs to be enjoyed
indoors in January through March while there's still a nip (ok, severe windchill) in
the air. Participants will learn what types of bulbs are suitable for forcing, their
storage conditions, timing and growing conditions. Of course, we'll also talk about
the care and keeping of the biquitous Amaryllis. At the end of the session, everyone
will have THREE pots of different kinds of bulbs to brighten up their home in late
winter. In addition, we will cover basic outdoor planting guidelines for fall planted
bulbs and view a selection of hardy bulbs that everyone can grow.

Landscape Design for Urban Yards with Sandra England
Design a landscape that meets your family needs, looks great in all seasons, and
has long-term value. This workshop guides you through the process from inspiration
and site analysis to completion of a planting plan. Please bring a surveyor
certificate or scale drawing of your property, ruler, sharp pencils, eraser and
snapshots of your yard.

Creating a Christmas Wreath with Judy Stevenson
Enjoy the essence of pine and cedar as you create your own Christmas wreath, to adorn
your front door. Embellish with sprigs of dried berries, seedheads and twigs from
your garden for a truly natural creation. We'll supply the wreath rings and wire.
Please bring about 3 bunches of assorted greens, embellishments and pruners. We'll
