(1) Vladan Djordjevic (1844-1930) was physician and statesman. He completed secondary school in Belgrade and took a degree in medicine in Vienna. He specialized in surgery and became military physician and head of the Surgical Ward of the Military Hospital from 1871. Later he became head of the Medical Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (1879), president of the Belgrade municipality (1884-1888), Minister of Education (1888), Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs (1897-1900).
He founded the Serbian Medical Association in 1872 and was one of the founders of the Serbian Red Cross in1876. In addition to works in the field of medicine, he also wrote dramas, stories and works in the field of history.
