ZARA (ZADAR)

Zara is also a Mediterranean city in Croatia.

After WW1 it was given to Italy, so Italian stamps were used there until the capitulation of the country in 1943. That year the city came under German authority and Italian issues with various overprints were used. After the liberation the area became a part of Croatia.
