Courtroom of a former prison on
Tobago Street, Calton.
. Cells had been hired out as
workshops/
studios/rehearsal space/storage, you name it. Formerly owned
by a scrap merchant after being decommissioned, the fantastic
building was, and still is, crumbling, deteriorating, leaking and full
of incredible junk and character. My first studio when moving back
to Glasgow, and still much missed (despite the leaks, blackouts, foxes and
occassional pigeons!). More pictures of the prison will appear on the
sketchbook page as soon as I update it...
