Anyone can try their hand at writing, either fiction or non-fiction, for performance or merely to read - the opportunities are there. |

| Although there is no specific need for scriptwriters, this is owing to their rarity. There is the chance for anyone to write a play or sketch and have it performed by the group. The One Act Play evening / Christmas Party is the occasion when most novices try out their skill, though others have had their scripts performed in both the Duncan Rand One Act Play Festival and the Kent Drama Association Full Length play festival. For those whose mind does not work along the lines of a play there are outlets within our films to write dialogue or shorter sketches. |
| All productions require some form of writing, particularly associated with publicity material; writing to the press, crafting appropriate text to go with the handbill or writing articles for the programmes. The group’s newsletter also needs people to feed it with anecdotes from productions or social activities to anything else which the membership may consider interesting to read. |
