B) Insurance
All members are covered worldwide by the clubs public liability insurance for both Surfing (to 2 million) and Surf-Lifesaving (to 5 million) activities provided that the member is acting within his / her ability and qualification.
In addition, all members benefit from personal accident insurance as part of their SLSA membership. Full Details are displayed on the surf club notice board.
C) Equipment and Premises Use
All members are provided with a coloured tag which can be attached to the zip cord on a wetsuit to identify them as members of the club for access to the building and equipment.
Members wishing to use the club equipment outside of official events / training should only do so under the supervision of a NARS qualified lifeguard and this is actively enforced for members under 16. In addition, Nipper age members must have dedicated adult supervision in addition to any lifeguards to use any of our equipment (a parent somewhere on the beach does not count!)
Members using the premises should familiarise themselves with the location and operation of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency exits and the locations of the nearest available telephones.
D) Use of Personal Information
Names (only) of all club members are displayed on the surf club notice-board.
If affiliation to the SLSA or BSA is required your details will be forwarded to the relevant organisation.
Relevant medical information disclosed on the membership form will appear on training session registers but will not be generally disclosed.
E) Comments and Suggestions
Committee meetings are held on the first Sunday of Every Month, usually at 7pm. Members are encouraged to attend but only elected committee members may take part in a vote if one is required.
F) Contests and Training
The club aims to provide financial assistance for those representing the club professionally / competitively or in attaining relevant qualifications that can (and will) be used to benefit other members of the club.
G) Payment
We have kept membership fees the same for 2008 determined that cost is never a disinsentive to take part. However, we'll need to raise additional money if we want to see the proposed improvements at the club. So don't be surprised if your asked to shake a tin (or raise a paintbrush!) in aid of our building project this year.
Any cheques should be made payable to: St Agnes Surf Lifesaving Club
